The Smashing Pumpkins Will Release New Album for Free

While many artists fight the piracy and illegal file sharing, bands like Radiohead and now Smashing Pumpkins do something on the opposite of that, they make their albums free to all of the fans. We still remember how Nine Inch Nails with “The Slip” and Radiohead make their “In Rainbows” album for free download and regulate the free-donation system in 2006. Fans can download the full album freely and can donate any amount to them including $0 and the alt-rock veterans Smashing Pumpkins soon to be followed this great movement.

Actually, it is not the first time for Smashing Pumpkins to give away the album for free. In 2000, they gave the “Machina II/The Friends & Enemies of Modern Music” album freely. Smashing Pumpkins’ charismatic frontman, Billy Corgan, promised that this 44-track album is absolutely free without donation and sign-up stuff and you can download the songs as many times as you want.

Their new album entitled “Teargarden by Kaleidyscope” is the opus comeback after years without any albums. For the die-hard fans and collectors who want something to handle and stare at, Smashing Pumpkins will release limited edition mini box set of 11 four-song for them. Be patience until October 2010 and monitor their progress.
